Glasgow

Right next after my last concert-attending in Manchester, I decided (not compulsively) to go to Glasgow and Edinburgh cos why not? We were already in northern part of England so I thought we should give it a try. When we arrived in Glasgow, the first thing that came up into my head was traditional. Not only that, this city is way livelier than Coventry (off course it is) and a very interesting place to have a stroll. So here we are in Glasgow. At first stop I visited Pollok Country Park, a very nice place to stroll and sense the fresh air of Glasgow. Then we went to Necropolis, An ancient graveyard, very spooky yet challenging to visit hahah. I didn't even have the gut to take pictures there. Then finally to the city center. Yes every city in the UK has their own city center, this is the most interesting part in the UK when you come to visit the Great Britain. We did not manage to visit many places because we already booked our coach to Edinburgh that night but I guess these are the most valuable places to visit in Glasgow (based on tripadvisor).

Red Hot Chili Peppers in Manchester

After having a tight term 1 course schedule, my friend who is also my flatmate, and I were going to see RHCP concert in Manchester. Why Manchester? Not only because it was the cheapest RHCP concert in the UK, the schedule suited ours as well. It was also a chance for my pal who is an MU fan to visit Old Trafford there. It took like 3 hours to go to Manchester by Bus from Coventry. By the time we arrived, we visited Old Trafford to have a stadium tour. Only him actually, I only accompanied him lol. We finished at 4pm, and headed to Manchester Arena, where the concert took place. The gate was already opened and we directly entered the concert hall.

Babymetal
The opening act band was Babymetal, a metal band from Japan. The performance was great and quite unique. This band is a next big thing I suppose. Red Hot Chili Peppers showed up on time, and they brought old hits such as Around The World, Otherside, Californication, and By The Way. One thing I love about RHCP, they never change the colour of their music though they had on and off band members, and high demands as well. Their current music and albums can always be enjoyed by people from their generation (including me). In the middle of their performance, Babymetal showed up and they collaborated once. It was really, really great ambience thou. Their best new songs were also played such as Go Robot, Dark Necessities, and Sick Love. They had like 3 encore songs, which I couldn't believe they did not perform Can't Stop, as it is my all-time RHCP song. The crowd was full-house, though they had several gigs going in the UK. For me, this concert is worth it as they also giving away free CDs from their latest album for all the concert participants. Nice advertisement indeed. This show I prefer to give 7.5 scale out of 10. Who can resist a good ol' band, can't you?

Starsailor

This is my first gig while I'm staying in the UK. I like the band, and the songs a lot, back in my days when I was a teenager on early 2000's. Starsailor follow the tone of Britpop, with their hits Four to The Floor, Alcoholic, Good Souls, and the phenomenon Silence is Easy. Despite the location, I didn't wanna miss this show. It's only 40 mins away from where I live, and term 1 of my course had just ended (not the exam thou). The concert was held in The Assembly, Leamington Spa. They played very well, and also the crowd was really enthusiast. None of the gig goers were teenager, I suppose, rather than late 30's I bet. It was also my first gig I went to by myself, since no-one gave an attention to this band in my radius lol. I did really enjoy the show, not to mention I did have a nice meal on Viallis (you should try it at least once when you're in Leamington Spa. For this show, scale 7 out of 10 is indeed the best rating.
Front row again? yes please

Oxford

Oxford is a very quite city, and a great place to walk around. It is a city of knowledge, where you can find any library only in meters. It has also Christ Church, the place where Harry Potter movie was filmed. For those who enthusiast with knowledge, may find this place very interesting, yet it is the home of University of Oxford, No.1 Uni in the UK.

WALES

Every lecture week, I always have a pre-test exam. When you think going to study in England is just come to the class and hear the lecturers speaking, no you're totally wrong. This weekly pre-test seldom get myself a little bit stressed, therefore I must have a getaway every two-week during the weekend. Otherwise, you'll never get yourself a bit relax :p

On early November, I had a trip to Wales, arranged by Warwick Uni. There, we were having trip by our own while the uni only provided the coach. First town we hit was Cardiff (off course) and it is such a beautiful traditional city. The weather really is really fine, not too chilly and not windy. These are some of the places we visited:

London Part 1

London could be my favourite city in the UK, since it has many places to visit related to my fancy 😜 I commuted in one day and went back again to Coventry. Everything is lovely here except the traffic which is pretty rubbish. I will definitely have a visit again since I need more time to stroll around London!
